    1. Dayton Hamvention (all-day)
      May 19

      Dayton Hamvention®, one of the world’s largest amateur radio gatherings, returns to Hara to celebrate its 62nd show. It is expected to bring over 25,000 people from all over the world to the Miami Valley over the three-day weekend. Close to 500 indoor exhibits and over 2,5000 outdoor exhibits showcase the latest in amateur radio equipment, technology, computer software and hardware – along with hard-to-find radio and computer accessories and equipment. Possibly nowhere on earth can one experience first-hand the incredible diversity and worldwide reach of amateur radio as during this event.

    2. TWIN VALLEY TRAIL HIKE WITH THE METRO DAYTON HIKERS
      10:00 am – 2:00 pm

      Hike with Metro Dayton Hikers along the Twin Valley Trail for a 14-mile, four-hour hike. This hike is considered rugged, for experienced hikers only. Bring a small lunch to carry in a pack.

    3. 40th Annual Dayton International Festival-A World A’Fair
      11:00 am – 6:00 pm

      A annual cultural expo features food, entertainment and products from countries around the world.  For additional information see www.aworldafair.org.

    4. CORN 101
      12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

      Watch as the farmer rides the corn planter and plants the corn in check rows. See a corn field laid out before your very eyes. Afterward, stop by the farmhouse to learn about heirloom corn and its uses.

    5. LEARN TO ROW: ADULT LEARN TO ROW
      12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

      These four-week classes will cover everything needed to row a single sculling boat confidently and independently. Classes are held at the Island MetroPark Boat House. No prior experience necessary. Prerequisites: Participants should know how to swim, be comfortable around water, have good balance, and overall physical mobility. Able to carry 25lbs. over-head and comfortable doing deep knee bends.  For additional information see www.regattacentral.com/ltr/.

    6. Fleurs et Vin Dayton’s Premier Wine & Gourmet Food Festival
      1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      One Day, 300+ wines, over 20 of Dayton’s Best Independent Restaurants

    7. VOLUNTEER: PADDLESPORT ASSISTANT TRAINING
      1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

      Paddle-sport volunteers needed! Our training will get you on the water and helps you become comfortable assisting others who are learning about paddle sports. There will be opportunities to use these skills as a volunteer throughout the season. Some prior experience is preferred; equipment is provided. Prerequisites: none.

    8. WILDFLOWERS THROUGH BUTTERFLY EYES
      2:00 pm – 3:30 pm

      Butterflies and wildflowers go together in an amazing cycle.  Experience the science and field work of volunteers who have monitored this cycle  while sharing in the late spring burst of wildflowers and butterflies along the trails.

    9. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr.
      3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

      After an enchantress transforms him, a prince waits for true love to break the spell.  Who could learn to love a beast?  For additional information see www.townhalltheatre.org.

    1. TIKE HIKES: BUDS AND BUGS
      10:00 am – 11:00 am

      Use facepaint to transform your preschooler into a bee, bug, or butterfly. We will pretend to be nature’s pollinators, exploring flowers, and discovering the relationships that flowers have with bugs.
