Overview

Time to stock up on books for the summer at the Friends of the Dayton Metro Library Book Sale!  The used book sale will take place Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22, at the Northwest Branch Library, 2410 Philadelphia Drive. Thousands of books and AV items for all ages are available, and the Friends use the proceeds to help fund community-wide library programs.

“Booksales are a great way for families to add books and other materials to their homes without spending a lot of money,” said Jean Gaffney, Acquisition and Collection Development Manager for the Library. “Having access to interesting reading material at home is a great motivator to keep kids reading and learning.”

The sale includes used books for children, teens and adults as well as music, movies and audiobooks. Most items have been weeded from the Library’s collection. All books will be $1.00 each; AV materials (CDs, DVDs) will be buy one, get one free.

“Over the past few years, the Library has opened amazing new facilities in our area,” said Judy Day, President of the Friends of the Library. “Having our sales at Branch Libraries allows us to highlight these wonderful buildings.” The Friends held a sale at the Miamisburg Branch Library in April, and anticipate Book Sales at other Branch Libraries in the future.
