Furry Skurry 5K & Furry Fest

Calling all Superheroes! The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is fighting animal homelessness and we need your help to bring forever homes to all animals. Lace up your sneakers. Tie on your cape. Grab your super pooch and sign up today for the 27th annual Furry Skurry 5K walk/run to benefit the pets at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, the area’s largest no-kill animal welfare agency.

This family-friendly and pet-friendly event will take place on Saturday, May 26 at the Eastwood MetroPark, 1385 Harshman Rd, Dayton, OH 45431. Come as an individual, family or a team and let’s celebrate pets during this exciting and fun-filled event. Not able to attend, don’t worry! We also have Virtual Walker/Runner options so that you can experience all the goodies without being at the event!

Pet adopters, rescuers, fosters parents and animal lovers are all super heroes to animals in need. So run, walk or fly and don’t forget your super sidekick dog!

What better way to ring in spring than with a trail run around the park with your super sidekick dog? Sign up now for this event by visiting www.hsdayton.org/fs or by calling (937) 262-5922. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. with the 5K run/walk starting at 9:30 a.m. A more casual 1-mile walk will follow at the 5K race.

All participants will receive a free pancake breakfast, high performance t-shirt, sWag bag and finisher medal. Want a truly super experience? Upgrade your registration to our V.I.P.P. (Very Important People and Pets) ticket and receive access to the V.I.P.P. tent, open bar, premium parking, giveaways, pet massages, paw-dicures and more!

Not into walking or running, don’t worry, we also have other great festivities during Furry Fest following the races. All participants from the race can enter Furry Fest for free. If you want to attend Furry Fest without participating in the race than you will just pay $5 at the door (for anyone 16 or older). If you are younger than 16 you can enter for free.

All proceeds raised from this event help care for the homeless pets at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency, the Humane Society of Greater Dayton receives no government funding and relies solely on the donations of individuals, companies and grants to run the programs and services it offers to the community. They are dedicated to building loving relationships between people and pets. Founded 116 years ago, it is the largest and most-established no-kill animal welfare agency in the area. It focuses on pet adoptions, eliminating pet overpopulation, providing education and ensuring the humane treatment of animals.
