Overview

The Dayton Philharmonic celebrates the sesquicentennial anniversary (150 years) of the birth of Paul Laurence Dunbar, acclaimed African-American poet born in Dayton, to parents who had been enslaved in Kentucky prior to the Civil War. Classical meets gospel as the DPO performs a beautiful program of music honoring the long and arduous fight for freedom.

Age Recommendation

All audience members must have a ticket, regardless of age. For the consideration of all patrons, children on laps and/or babes in arms are not permitted at most Dayton Performing Arts Alliance presentations.
