The Wright Brothers

Chances are, if you have been in Dayton, Ohio for more than 5 minutes, you've heard of Orville & Wilbur Wright. You'll see their faces on many tourist attractions, you'll see countless streets, businesses and more bearing the "Wright" name, and you'll most certainly see at least one photo of the Wright B Flyer. 

The Flyer is the claim to fame for Dayton's native sons. Orville & Wilbur dedicated their life to becoming the first to fly. From humble beginnings in a bicycle shop, to a beach in North Carolina and back, the Wright brothers invented and then perfected the first Heavier Than Air aircraft right here in Dayton, Ohio. 

The National Aviation Heritage Area has been essential in preserving the historical sites surrounding this momentous invention.
