The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is the world’s largest and oldest military aviation museum and Ohio’s most visited FREE tourist attraction with over 1 million annual visitors.  You could easily spend an entire day gazing at more than 360 aerospace vehicles and missiles and thousands of artifacts amid 19 acres of indoor exhibit space in four different hangars.  And, don’t miss the National Aviation Hall of Fame inside the museum!

After touring the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, you’ve probably worked up an appetite!  Pick up lunch at one of the many restaurants in downtown Dayton and have a picnic lunch along the Great Miami River in downtown Dayton.  See one of the world’s largest river fountains at RiverScape MetroPark and watch the kayakers and canoers navigate RiverScape River Run.

After lunch, take a stroll along the Dayton Inventors River Walk at RiverScape MetroPark.  You will be amazed by the many inventions that were dreamed up right here in Dayton including the Wright Flyer, the automobile car starter, the hydraulic jump fountain, the search engine, the cash register, pop-top cans, ice cube trays, and more!  See the over-sized sculptures and view the 150 brick tiles commemorating innovations from Dayton, Ohio!

A short drive away, you will find Carillon Historical Park, a 65-acre open-air history museum that serves as the main campus for Dayton History.  You will learn about the countless ways Dayton changed the world!  Tour the Wright Brothers National Museum, the Heritage Center of Dayton Manufacturing & Entrepreneurship, the Early Settlement Area, the Great 1913 Flood Exhibit, and more.  While you tour, you will be surrounded by gorgeous scenes of nature.
